Really great post by @drchatterjee about the benefits of strength training. Definitely advice that I have started to take on board myself 🏾 Even better that I don’t have to go to the gym! What simple strength training do you do?….@drchatterjee DO YOU STRENGTH TRAIN? After the age of 30, we lose about 10% of our muscle mass each decade until about 50, when that loss increases to 15% per decade. This has critical implications for your health. Your lean muscle mass is one of the best predictors for how well you will be as you age.We all benefit from doing regular strength training but, please remember, this does not need to be in the gym with weights….although it can be if you want! Practical is better than optimal. Many of us set our goals far too high and end up doing nothing. In Feel Better in 5, there is a brilliant 5 minute bodyweight workout called the Power 5 – that I do every day whilst my coffee brews. (See my stories for the exercises!) To do it, you don’t need to join a gym or buy any equipment. #FBI5 is now available in the US and I’ve linked to US and UK retailers in my stories 🏾What kind of strength training do you do? Have you tried The Power 5 workout yet? Let me know your thoughts below 🏾🏾•••••#strengthtraining #resistancetraining #bodyweight #yoga #feelbetterin5 #feelbetterlivemore #lifestylemedicine
